San Benito: Reynaldo "Ray" Esparza Ramirez, Jr., 52, entered eternal rest on August 22, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beatriz Flores Ramirez; his daughter, Liliana (Edward) Ramirez Vidaurre; his son, Reynaldo Ramirez III; a granddaughter, Luisa Isabella Vidaurre; his brothers, Francisco (Felita) Ramirez, Alberto Ramirez, Leonel Ramirez and Gustavo (Lupina) Ramirez; his sisters, Leonor (Amid) Vaid, Mickey (Bill) Corcoran, Celeste Ramirez and Mary Lou Torres. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Luisa Esparza Ramirez and his father, Reynaldo O. Ramirez. Ray was the owner of Ray's BBQ in his hometown for over 25 years. He was known for his generosity towards everyone who would seek help. He will always be remembered by friends and family as a man with a great smile, fun personality, and a heart of gold. He was born and raised in San Benito, Texas, where he dedicated his life to his business and family. He was a devoted person to his community and was loved and respected by many. Today we mourn his loss, but tomorrow and always we will hear of what a great man he was. Visitation will be held today, August 24, 2008 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, located at 395 S. Sam Houston in San Benito and continue from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 P.M. recited by the Knights of Columbus at St. Theresa Catholic Church, located at 1300 Combes St. in San Benito. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Sam Arizpe officiating. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Pallbearers will be Leonel Ramirez, Jr., Ismael R. Vaid, Michael Benavides, Carlos Benavides, Michael Lozito, Adrian Flores, Angel Hugo Flores and Rogelio Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Reynaldo Ramirez III and Edward Vidaurre.
