Pete "Petie" Serrata, Jr., 29, of Los Fresnos/Brownsville, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 28, 1985 in Brownsville to Pete and Diana Saenz Serrata. He attended Angleton & West High School. Pete worked for several years with his father at Los Fresnos Farms and Ranch. He became a master mixologist at Benchwarmers Sports Bar where he enjoyed meeting new people and knew how to keep them happy. He had many friends of all generations and loved them without discrimination. He was a true kid at heart and lived every God-granted day to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joe Leal Serrata, his cousin, Jose Miguel Garza, and his aunt/godmother, Rosie Soto.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Diana Saenz and Pete Serrata; sisters, Melissa Ann Serrata and Angel Saenz; maternal grandparents, Leonardo and Elena Saenz; paternal grandmother, Odelia Serrata;
Maternal Aunts and Uncles, Mary Ellen & David Tamayo, Roy Soto, Cristy & Les Cannady, Marina Saenz and Mark Veit; Maternal cousins, David Falcon, James Tamayo, Roland & Rachel Soto, Jessica, Amanda, & Mark Moreno, Max, Lindsay & Quinn Cannady, Cosett and Monet Veit;
Paternal Aunts and Uncles, Celeste & Pepe Ortega, Carmen Lopez, Alma & Jesus Fayett, Joe and Betty Serrata; Paternal cousins, Eunezka & Joey Vera, Joe Garza Jr., Sasha Fayett Sotelo, Sicilly Fayett Ramirez, D'Jesus Fayett and Joe Serrata IV; as well as many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 2 pm to 9 pm, with a holy rosary at 7 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 7 am to 8:30 am at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral mass will take place at 9:30 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Los Fresnos. Committal service will follow at Los Cuates Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are: Jose Garza, Jr., Joey Vera, D'Jesus Fayett, Guillermo Juarez, Jr., Roland Soto, Jr., and Mark Moreno, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Joe Serrata IV, Jathan Strait, Michael Romero, and James Napier.
