Maria Elena Camacho, 87, of Port Isabel, TX passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Elena Camacho was born to Margarito and Concepcion Mota on August 14, 1936. She is preceded in death by her husband Leonzo Camacho Jr., daughter, Eloisa Elsa Camacho; grandson, Michael Gabriel Camacho; mother, Concepcion Buendia; father, Margarito Mota, and brothers Bernardo Mota, Sr., Candelario Mota; sister, Ana Maria Leos. Elena is survived by her loving children: Ernesto (Brenda) Camacho, Leonzo (Eva Lorena) Camacho III, Luis Alfredo Camacho, Javier (Maria Carmen) Camacho, Armando (Yolanda) Camacho, Elida Camacho, and Criselda C. (Greg) Wood; siblings: Pete Mota, Guadalupe Mota, Margarita Salinas, and Paz Medina; 14 grandchildren, Celina Camacho Corrigan, Colten Camacho, Jaime Armando Camacho, Eva Gisela Camacho, Aisa Yvette Camacho-Johnson, Michelle Camacho, Luis A. Camacho Jr., Salvador Lee Camacho, Dominic Renea Camacho, Eloisa Elsa Camacho, Alyssa Nicole Huskin, Andrew M. Camacho, Melanie Kittleson, Charlie Pineda, Anissa Testaverde, Zoey Austin, and Michael Chance Wood, along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with burial of ashes to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
