Obituary of Evaristo Grimaldo, Jr.

Evaristo Grimaldo, Jr., beloved husband, father, son, uncle and friend passed away on Monday, March 14th, 2022.
Evaristo was born in Brownsville, Texas on October 5th, 1965 to Evaristo Grimaldo Rivera and the late Guadalupe Mendoza Grimaldo. Evaristo was raised in Brownsville, Texas and graduated from James Pace High School in 1985. Evaristo worked as a cardiac sonographer for North Texas Heart Center for many years. He touched many hearts during his career, both figuratively and literally.
Evaristo married Maricela (Salazar) Grimaldo in 1990 in San Benito, Texas. Evaristo and Maricela had two children, Allison Marie Grimaldo and Everett Paul Grimaldo.
Evaristo and Maricela lived in Lewisville, Texas together for many years with Allie and Paul. Evaristo was a joy in the community, someone who would go out of his way to speak to everyone he would meet. Evaristo would always be the life of the party, making the entire room laugh.
Evaristo enjoyed fishing, hunting, baseball and the Dallas Cowboys. He was always willing to enjoy a nice craft beer and have a conversation with anyone about almost anything. Known to his family and friends as Tito, he was famous for giving everyone he met a nickname and his passionate bear hugs.
Evaristo was very family centered. No matter where his family was, Evaristo always made it feel like everyone was close. He would call his family every week and would take every opportunity possible to see family. His presence will be missed.
Evaristo is preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe Mendoza Grimaldo.
Evaristo is survived by his wife, Maricela (Salazar) Grimaldo, and his two children, Allison Marie and Everett Paul and his father, Evaristo Grimaldo, Sr.; siblings, Veronica (Grimaldo) and (Juan) Perez and Gerardo and (Maribel) Grimaldo.
A rosary and viewing will be held at the Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas between 5 pm and 9 pm on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
The funeral service will be held at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10 am proceeded by burial at Monte Meta.
All individuals attending Evaristo’s services are encouraged to socially distance and wear face covers or masks.
