Obituary of Francisco Hernandez

Francisco Hernandez was born February 17, 1945, in Matamoros, Mexico, and went to be with His Lord and Savior on January 25, 2021. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Graciela Trevino Hernandez and they were married for 41 years until her death, in 2008. During his marriage he raised three children, and was a teacher in Dallas, Texas, for 27 years. He became an ordained minister at Axe Memorial United Methodist Church in Garland, Texas. He married Genie Hernandez in June, 2010, and lived and served The Lord at Abundant Life Church in Los Fresnos, Texas, in many capacities, but throughout his Christian walk, his ministry was prayer. Francisco was a devoted Prayer Warrior with a heart of love for those who were sick, or hurting. Francisco loved spreading the Gospel of Christ, fishing on the Gulf, watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers and enjoying time with his family and friends. Francisco had the gift of laughter which brought great joy to his wife Genie, and to all those who will love and miss him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josefina Galvan, and his late wife, Graciela Hernandez; brothers , Margarito, Crispine, and Elias, and sisters, Ninfa and Gloria. Survivors include, his wife, Genie Hernandez; his children, Frank (Rocio) Hernandez, Vianey Hernandez, Leandra (Dale) Frey, Yvette (Tom) Perez, Yvonne (Richard) Sierra, Christopher Michael Andrews, Tricia Ramos. Brothers and Sisters: Eleuterio “Telo” Luna, Amelia Salce, Irma Luna, and Johnny Galvan. Grandchildren: Frank Nathaniel (Amy) Hernandez, Joaquin Hernandez, Diego Hernandez, Thomas Perez Jr., Alyssa Sierra, Nicholas Sierra, Christopher Sierra, Kierstyn Andrews, Kaylee Andrews, Caitlyn (Nick) Moreno. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 30th, 2021, at Abundant Life Church in Los Fresnos, from 2PM to 6PM, and Celebration of Life service will be held at 7PM.
