Melba, a wonderful neighbour and friend. "Grandma Melba" to my boys Joaquin & Oliver, they were born in the house next door to her. Baking cookies, playing chicken foot, planting trees and helping in the garden, telling stories of Mexico, making Christmas stockings to name just a few of the treasured memories we have. So full of life and fun, we are lucky that she shared with us. It wasn't until they were teenagers that my boys, now almost men, realized that Melba was not actually related, she had just assumed the role of Grandma from the moment they were born.
We will miss you,

Melba and Harold were two of the first people we met when we first came to the Island. We called ourselves the orginal redheads. ( Although neither of us were naturally redheads). She took me on several trips to Matamoros, we also went to Tampico and one particular trip to Monterey, to pick up a new seat for Harold's van. Harold and Melba were both dear friends. We miss them both. Love you redhead.

I will always remember Mrs. Fassold, she was someone that would treat me just like her grandsons and I would get in trouble just like them. I loved her for that, I would go to visit my friends and she would put me to work on Spring Break with their company SPI Travels until it became Grayline Tours. I have many fond memories that I will cherish in my heart forever. I will miss you dearly and please say hello to my sister and father for me Mrs. Fassold, I will never forget you and please say hello to Mr. Fassold. Good bye for now. Amen
