Obituary of Joseph John Melino

Joseph John Melino, 88, of South Padre Island, TX, passed away on April 28, 2019.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dear friend to many.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Moore) Melino; sons Joe Jr, Bob, and Jim; daughter Deborah; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; as well as several relatives and numerous friends.

Originally from Providence, RI, Joe and Marilyn raised their family near Syracuse, NY, before moving to South Padre Island 27 years ago.  A graduate of the University of Rhode Island and veteran of the Korean War, Joe was a retired pharmacist and was active in the Knights of Columbus both in New York and Texas.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with mass immediately following with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 205.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria, Port Isabel, TX, 78578.
