Just heard of Phil’s passing. Sorry for the loss to the family. When I was an 8 year old kid, my mother was in the hospital dying from cancer surgery. The Senterfitt family, my cousins, took care of me much of that time. I especially remember Phil praying with me each night before we went to bed. I’ll always be thankful to the whole family for their special kindness to me. Prayers for Phil’s family. May your days be blessed and your memories be sweet.

My first award in high school: Theatre Arts. I will never forget the conversations we had when he told me I had talent and to pursue Communications. He gave me so much confidence. I tell those stories to my son. I’m thankful for his influence. Onto a bigger stage Mr. Senterfitt.

Dear Mr. Senterfitt: You made a difference in my life. You were the reason I actually graduated when I was suppose too. I struggled with some of my classes and you took the time to help me. You were a true example of a caring teacher. RIP

I recall Mr Senterfitt having us all sing a song of our choosing, in front of the rest of our 'theater arts' classmates. I chose "if tomorrow never comes" by Garth Brooks. Only, my allergies that morning were off the charts and I sounded more like a congested BeeGee. When I was done, Mr. S gives me one look, looks at the class, then looks down down...sighs and says something like, "Well, that's one way to go"
The class giggled. Heck I chuckled. I knew he was being reserved. I said to myself, he could've said alot worse. Lol Great days! Great teacher! Great man, Mr Senterfitt. Thank you for the memories. Godspeed!

Mr Senterfitt was my Moms teacher in los fresnos and Mrs Senterfitt was my pre k teacher in los fresnos. Senterfitt introduced me to my first best friend... His name is Patrick. Years pass and Mr Senterfitt is now the drama teacher/genius at San Benito High... I was a senior and this man took a chance on me. We did a play, Rumors by Neil Simon, and it was one of the best experiences of my life because of this man. He believed in me even though he didn't like "football players" He gave me a chance. Rest well sir.

Mr. Senterfitt was one of "those" teachers for me...smart, irreverent, sarcastic, but someone who cared and would let you know it. Sympathy to Cindy and Kerry and their families and prayers that y'all remember good times and the lasting legacy of your Dad.

Phil and I grew up in Rangerville. He was great friend. We both attended San Benito Schools. He and Myrta Kay were a match made in Heaven. He was an Elder in The Presbyterian Church for many years and a well known theater arts instructor at SBHS. He will be missed. RIP

I am so sorry for your loss. Phil was my first friend at SBHS, and I will always have a special place in my heart for him. I once told him a story of my mother keeping and using the same bag of rice for 25 years! He laughed so hard that he had to take his glasses off. After that, he would sometimes just look at me and burst out laughing. I will always remember that, and his acts of kindness when I first started at SBHS. I know you will hear many wonderful stories, and please know that he left a wide path of kindness in the world. He will be missed.
