Obituary of Iris De La Rosa Stephens
Iris Stephens, was born on February 28 1973. She was a wife, married to Kyle Stephens and loving mother of Andrew James Shelton.
Iris grew up in Los Fresnos, Texas. She received her bachelor's degree from The University of Houston at Clear Lake; and received a physical therapy assistant degree from San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas.
Iris was a beautiful, strong woman of the Lord. She was a passionate worshiper and enjoyed flagging and singing and dancing to the Lord. Iris’s dedication to her faith was seen through her words and actions. She was a warrior for the Lord and always professed his word. It was common for her to pray with and for others.
Iris had a beautiful spirit and exuded an awesome presence on this earth. Her large smile and intoxicating laugh would automatically draw you into her environment. She was a woman who was joyful and radiated abundant spiritual, physical and intellectual beauty which was evident when she walked into any room. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special. This was also very evident in the unconditional love she expressed for her son Andrew.
Iris was an excellent physical therapy assistant. She loved her profession and the opportunity it gave her to help others. She was caring and compassionate which was evident through the close relationships she developed with her patients of trust, love and security.
Iris loved to travel and experienced the world. She loved fun trips to the beach especially Florida, or hiking in Zion; and going on mission trips to Haiti, India; and to the beloved Holy Land, Israel.
Sadly, we all feel a huge loss in her absence. Today however, we celebrate her life.
Iris went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2018. She leaves her husband Kyle Stephens, son Andrew James Shelton, her loving father Juan De La Rosa, and brother Joel De La Rosa.
Iris has now traveled to be with the Lord in Heaven on her most ultimate trip of a lifetime. She will be reunited in heaven with her mother, Yolanda De La Rosa, whom she longed to see.
I trust in your unfailing love; My heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord's praises, for he has been good to me. Psalm 13:5-6
One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. Psalm 27:4
