Mr. Gutierrez was my sixth grade teacher.. he had the best sense of humor. I was always getting moved away from everyone because I talked too much. He had a stern way of getting me to quit acting up and still making me laugh with his humor. I never knew he was a veteran. I am now in the military and wish I could have gone back to visit him so that he could have seen the way I turned out. I am so sorry for your loss. He impacted me even if i only knew him for a brief moment I will never forget him. My prayers are with your family and loved ones. May he Rest In Peace.

My name is myles caldwell and i was one of Mr. Gutierrez's students.I had him for concepts of engineering at the beginning of the school year because we had no teacher.Although i had him as a substitute for other classes,this last semester i got to know him as a person and not just someone filling in for my teacher.He would greet us every morning as we walked into class(He even took the time to learn our names within the first 2 days of having him),He always had a smile on his face and he never hesitated to help us if we had a question.He really did care for us because he would give us a paper on what we were missing to make sure we didnt have anything lower than a 90.He was a great teacher and a great person for the little time I had to truly understand him as friend and not as another sub.I will honestly miss seeing him across the hall greeting people and having conversations with us between lessons.I am sincerely sorry for the family and friends of Mr.Gutierrez because he was great.

I worked with Domingo for many years at Coakley Middle School. He was a fine teacher and a gentleman. He could always make you laugh. Domingo always fought for teacher's rights and the betterment of the educational system. May he rest in peace.

I want to extend my condolences to the Gutierrez Family for their loss. Domingo was a great colleague, advocate and true activist in the cause for public education. He was also a great person to work with. He will be deeply missed by all of us. Even though it is never easy to lose a loved one all we can do is pray and find consolation in having shared many great days and memories together. God bless you!
