Captain Ramon Ochoa, 47, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on November 7th, 2016 in Harlingen, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gregorio; mother, Concepcion; brothers Eliseo and Gregorio Ochoa Jr., and sister, Patricia Ochoa.
Ramon was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Gregorio and Concepcion Ochoa on July 20th, 1969. He was a Port Isabel High School graduate in 1988, and as a Tarpon, Ramon lettered in all four sports. Ramon spent his life dedicated to providing services as a fishing guide. Ramon's love and passion of fishing helped him make many friends on and off the water.
Ramon is survived by his daughters, Megan Rae Ochoa and Emily Jane Ochoa of Port Isabel; sister Oralia Betancourt of Houston and brothers, Manuel (Julieta) Ochoa and Abel (Sonia) Ochoa of Port Isabel. Several Aunts, Uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
The memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Ramon's family would like to thank his friends and loved ones on the water, as his time spent fishing with you held some of his best memories. Additionally, the Ochoa family wishes to sincerely extend their gratitude to Billy Corbin, Bill Sirman, and Mike Burkland for their continued love and support toward both Ramon and his family during this difficult time.
In this time of heartache and sadness, we hope to hold memories of Ramon dear. As we walk the path of life, we know he will be beside us always, fishing rod in hand.
