Sylvia H. Torres, 51, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2015 in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Sylvia was an Educator and Coach for Point Isabel School District for 27 years. She was in charge of the Spanish Club and Head Coach for Track and Cross-Country for P.I. High School. She lived her life for her family, coaching, and teaching. Sylvia will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Juan Antonio Torres; three daughters: Ariel Alexandria Torres, Lauren Emille (James) Delgado, and Taylor ReananTorres; one son, Aiden Anthony Torres; and one grandson, Roland James Delgado; her parents, Robert Sr. and Refugia Holland; three brothers: Robert Holland, Jr., Mariano Rafael (Helen) Holland, and Rolando (Vanessa) Holland; one sister, Maribel (Bradford) Urey; two nieces: Isabel Holland and Maria Elyse Holland; and one nephew, Mateo Rolando Holland. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
