Viola G. Barrera, 90, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Harlingen, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of San Benito, Texas and a member of Christo De La Roca Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leandro Barrera; one son, Juan Manuel Barrera; and one brother, Manuel Garcia. She is survived by three daughters: Maria Gloria Moreno, Elizabeth B. Ybarra, and Velma B. Garza; one son, Jose Barrera; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Concepcion Montemayor and Juanita Barrientos; two brothers, Manuel Garcia and Oscar Garcia; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
