San Benito - Ramon L. "Manito" Cruz, 14, passed away December 31, 2006. He was a student at Riverside Middle School in San Benito. He is survived by his father, Enrique (Vanessa) Cruz of San Benito; mother, Sara Quiroz (Abel Betancourt); brother, Enrique Cruz, Jr. both of Brownsville. Paternal grandparents, Ramon and Guadalupe Cruz of Los Indios; Maternal grandmother, Amalia Quiroz of La Paloma; 6 Paternal Aunts, Norma A. (Jose Guadalupe) Castellanos of Carricitos; Eudelia (Juan Antonio) Garza of La Paloma; Evie (Joaquin) Ramon of Houston; Ramona (Roberto) Cruz, Vicky (Ignacio) Gonzalez, Maricruz Cruz; and Paternal Uncle, Juan Carlos (Lorena) Cruz all of Los Indios. Also surviving are his 3 Maternal Aunts, Eva (Terry) Schneider and Linda Dillard both of Colorado; Gloria (Rogelio) Ortiz of La Paloma; 6 Maternal Uncles, Ruben Quiroz; David Lorenzo (Tomasa) Quiroz; Samuel (Marti) Quiroz; Benjamin (Rosa) Quiroz all of La Paloma; Lorenzo (Candy) Quiroz of San Benito; and Juan Quiroz of Combes. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Enrique Cruz, Jr., Jose Castellanos, Jr., Francisco Castellanos, Juan Carlos Cruz, Brandon Wooten, Samuel Quiroz, Eliud Prieto, and Ignacio Gonzalez.
