Anabel C. Castañeda, 50, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2015, in Harlingen, Texas. Anabel was born and raised in Port Isabel. She attended all PI schools, where she was involved in band and was a Flag Corp member. She graduated in 1983. Anabel was the owner, alongside her husband, Roy, of Mickey's Bistro and Chocolate Shoppe located in Port Isabel. Most importantly she was the loudest cheerleader with her best friend, Fabiana Cantu, of their daughters softball team. Anabel was the CEO of Gulf Coast Tsunami softball team. She was preceded in death by her father, Sixto M. Castillo; and her mother-in-law, Beatrice H. Castañeda. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Roy Castañeda; and one daughter, Micaela Yvonne Castañeda; her mother, Beatriz G. Castillo; six sisters: Sara C. (Raul) Puentes; Alicia C. Puentes, Beatriz (Carlos) Molina, Rosalinda Castillo, Criselda Felix, and Edith (Dagoberto) Castillo-Ramirez; six brothers: Sixto (Sandy) Castillo, Jr., Enrique (Robin) Castillo, Gerardo (Sara) Castillo, Javier (Carmelita) Castillo, Mario (Irene) Castillo, and Francisco E. Castillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Cath0lic Church, 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Cremation will follow in accordance to her wishes.
