Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Cecilia "Chila" T. Forbes, 71, entered into eternal life with the Lord surrounded by her family on February 10th, 2015. Chila was born on August 9, 1943 to her parents, Juan and Justa Torres. She was a native and lifelong Port Isabel resident. She was an active board member of the Port Isabel Housing Authority since 2006 and member of The Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. She was very active in her community and devoted for 36 years to NINOS Head Start, Inc. where she was employed as an Area Manager since 1979. Preceding her in death are brothers, Jose S. Torres and Aniceto Torres; sisters: Juanita T. Mora, Ambrosia Lopez, Josefa Garcia, and Maria Martinez. She is survived by her daughters: Mary (Eddie Holland) Torres, Cecilia "Annie" Forbes, Lisa (Wade) Sales, Rubina (Shawn) Rea, Maribel Gonzalez; her son, Jaime (Rebecca) Reyna; two sisters, Maria Nestora Taylor and Margarita Lopez; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Leonor Fowler. The family will be receiving visitors on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Lighthouse Assembly of God Church Fellowship Hall, 110 Port Rd in Port Isabel, Texas. Memorial viewing will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 with a memorial service to begin at 10:00 a.m. at The Lighthouse Assembly of God Church with Pastor Steven Hyde officiating.
