Angelica Compean Garza, 75, of South Houston and Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Friday November 28, 2008 in Pasadena, Texas. Angelica was born on January 01, 1933 in Matamoros, Tamp. to Juan and Mariana Compean.
She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Alma Delia Vela and Maria del Rosario Vela; Her parents, Juan and Mariana Compean; Grandson, Guadalupe T. Torres; And great-grandson, Zaiden Gilbert Guzman.
She is survived by her husband, Nazario Garza of South Houston; Her daughters, Irma (Hector) Torres of Port Isabel and Linda (Juan E.) Rivera of San Benito; Her sons, Gilbert (Teri) Vela of Port Isabel, Eddie (Maria) Vela of Brownsville, and Joe (Norma) Vela of Port Isabel; 14 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren; She is also survived by her brothers, Hilario (Graciela) Compean and Apolinar "Gil" Compean both of San Benito, Mario Compean Sr., and Luz (Alicia) Compean of South Houston; Sisters, Elida (Ovidio) De La Fuente of San Benito, Rita (Javier) Torres and Genoveva (+Cecilio) Villarreal both of South Houston, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, December 02, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 03, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 77 Sunshine Dr. in San Benito with Fr. Isaac Emeka Erondu officiating, followed by graveside services at San Benito City Cemetery in San Benito.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Hector Torres, Jr., Rudy Garza, Jr., Edgar Vela, Joey Vela, Juan E. "J.C." Compean, Alberto Rosales Jr., Mario Compean Jr., and Carr Grienier Jr. Honorary pallbearers included Isaiah R. Garza, Ronald E. Pockrus, Noah Torres, Troy Vela, and Eddie Mengidab.
