San Benito, TX - David H. Garza, 96, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2008. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his children and his loving wife, Juanita, whom he was married to for 59 years. He was born October 16, 1912 to Mr. and Mrs. Jose and Refugia Garza. He served in the Army in 1942 at Camp Wallace, Texas during peace time and retired from the San Benito Independent School District at the age of 72. He was a hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents and all his brothers and sisters.
David is survived by his wife, Juanita; his children, Lisa Zuniga, Mary Elvia (Tony) Lemos, David (Maria Dolores) Garza, Anna Ramirez (Jesse), Johnny Joe Garza, Rosie (Rene) Garza, Noe Garza and Norma (Javier) Gomez; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitations were held on Friday, November 28, 2008 with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Full Military Honors will be conducted by graveside by American Legion Post 205 and V.F.W. Post 2410 of Harlingen and San Benito.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Joey Zuniga, David Daniel Garza, Chris Ramirez, Paul Garza, Aaron Ramirez and Daniel Rene Garza.
