Obituary of Agnes Reyes

Agnes Drucilla "Aunt Drue" Reyes, 87, of Los Fresnos, Texas, was called home on Sunday, January 25, 2015, surrounded by her family at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
Agnes was born in Roatán, Honduras in 1928. She became a native to the United States in 1972 and settled in Los Fresnos, Texas where she's been a resident ever since. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Los Fresnos.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Reyes; her parents, Lemuel and Agnes Drucilla Rivers Ebanks; four brothers: Ivan Ebanks, Lemuel Ebanks, Jr., Willie Ebanks, Louie Ebanks; and one sister, Elsie Rivers.
She is survived by three children: Carlton (Gema) Reyes, Rhonda Mayfield, Lindley (Gandy) Reyes; one stepson, Calvin Reyes, Jr; and one sister, Gloria Ebanks. Also surviving her are seven grandchildren: Ivy (Randy) Reyes-McChesney, Verna (Ivan) Reyes-Sanchez, Michelle Reyes, Alexandra Mayfield, Harrisha Pax, Cristiano Reyes, and Desi Reyes; five great-grandchildren: Evan, Caelan and Vivian McChesney, Belen and Briela Sanchez; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. from 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Los Fresnos. Interment will take place in Roatán, Honduras.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 300 E. Ocean Blvd in Los Fresnos, Texas 78566 or to Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Roatán, Honduras, in c/o Carlton Reyes, 300 E. Ocean Blvd in Los Fresnos 78566.
