Obituary of Idolina Aguirre

Idolina Salazar Aguirre, 94, of San Benito, Texas went to Heaven on Thursday, January 1st, 2015 at the Golden Palms in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 16, 1920 and would have been 95 this month.
Idolina was the daughter of Antonia and Alvaro Candanoza and was married to Jesus Salazar Aguirre for over 65 years until his passing in December 26, 2009.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and great-granddaughter, Carolina Cardenas.
She is survived by her daughters, Sonia (Richard +) Diaz, of Harlingen and Lucy (Mauro) Rosales, of San Benito and her five sons, Armando (Barbara) Salazar, of San Benito, Arturo Salazar, of Phoenix, Arizona, Adalberto (Rosalinda) Salazar, of Brownsville, Arnold (Elena) Salazar, of San Benito, and Alvaro (Esmeralda) Salazar, of La Feria.
Other survivors include twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10 am until 9 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, 395 South Sam Houston Blvd., San Benito, Texas 78586.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. The Burial Services will take place at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Idolina's family would like to thank Dr. Cynthia Luna-Salazar, DaVita Valley Baptist-Harlingen Dialyses Center, especially Clara De La Cruz, who was an angel sent by God to take care of our mother, special thanks to Dalia Agorilla, for holding our hands and telling us it's okay to let go, and Brittany Pratt, for supporting our mom's medical needs, and everyone who showed love and affection towards Idolina during these past difficult years.
Armando Salazar, Arturo Salazar, Adalberto Salazar, Arnold Salazar, Alvaro Salazar, and Juan Santiago Salazar are honored to be serving as Idolina's pallbearers.
