Obituary of Raul Cavazos

Raul R. Cavazos, 80, entered eternal rest on December 17, 2014 surrounded by family and friends.
Born October 1, 1934 in Allende, Nuevo Leon to Evaristo and Margarita Cavazos, he married Gloria Rodriguez, the love of his life, on January 18, 1959. They had one daughter Leticia Cavazos. Raul was a joyful and generous, hard-working man who loved God, was deeply committed to his family, and enjoyed serving others. He liked working on his yard, playing Bingo, and watching soccer, boxing, and wrestling. He worked for many years as a pipe fitter for Marathon Letournea. He was most proud of his involvement as a 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus in San Benito.
Raul is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gonzalo Cavazos, his sisters Celia Garza, Irma Lopez, and Eva Gutierrez.
He is survived by his wife and daughter, his sisters Maria del Socorro Cavazos (Houston, TX), Alicia Quezada (Houston, TX) and Oralia Cavazos (Saltillo, Mexico), and many nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 19, 2014 from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a holy rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Theresa Church Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Tx.
