Harlingen/Rio Hondo, TX: Jose Eduardo Lozano, 79, passes away November 2, 2008 with his family by his bedside. He was born November 17, 1929 to Ramon and Maria de Jesus Alaniz Lozano in Lyford, TX. He is preceded in death by both his parents and a sister Ernestina Leal. Jose Lozano was a successful business man in the auto sales business in the 70's. He owned and operated Car City Auto Sales dealership in Harlingen and San Benito for more than 40 years. After retiring he devoted his time to his wife Lilia, his children and his grandchildren. Mr. Lozano pass time was fishing and hunting. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savor at a young adult age and preached the gospel in the small ranches along the river banks in Mexico in the 60's and 70's. He was a Member of Berea Baptist Church of Harlingen, TX He is survived by his loving wife Lilia Lozano of Rio Hondo, his loving children, Mary Jane (Reynaldo) Rodriguez of Rio Hondo, Nelda (Juan) Flores of Rio Hondo, Corina (Javier) Serna of Corpus Christi, Jose Eduardo Lozano Jr. of Corpus Christi, Steve Lozano of Rio Hondo, Yvette Lozano of Harlingen, Jonas (Virginia) Lozano of Rio Hondo, John Mark (Jessica) Lozano of Harlingen, Marisa (Anthony) Phillips of Kingsville, Jessica Lozano of Corpus Christi; a sister, Maria Ortenzia of Romano, CA; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. To our dad as we celebrate the passing of your eternal life may you always shine upon us as you did as when you were in life. We love you and will forever miss you. The Lozano Family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Todd Shenkenberg and Rio Hondo Home Health Jaime Rodriguez RN BSN for the time they spent with our loved one. Serving as pallbearers is his grandsons: Jose Jason Lozano, Bruce Lozano, Ricky Hernandez, Aberham Hernandez, Francisco J. Serna and Alturo Castro. Visitation will be held today, November 4, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 10 A.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel.
