Obituary of Eloy Escobar

San Benito, TX - Eloy Escobar, 86, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Twinbrooke South in San Benito, TX.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Guillermina Esparza Escobar; parents, Severiano and Francisca Escobar; brothers, Roberto and Rudolfo Escobar; sisters, Eva Reyes and Francis Maruca.
Mr. Escobar was born in Brownsville, TX on February 4, 1922. He volunteered and joined the Army Air Corp as a B-24 Liberator Pilot. He married Guillermina Esparza on September 1, 1954. He retired from Corpus Christi Army Department after 30 years of service; he then spent the remainder of his life in San Benito, TX.
He is survived by his children, Eloy Escobar, Jr.(David Grant), Edward (Melissa) Escobar, Ernest (Maria) Escobar and Emilio (Marisela) Escobar; grandchildren, Jessica Escobar, BrandonEscobar, Damian Escobar, Amanda Escobar, Rachel Escobar, Robert Escobar, Andrea Escobar and Estaban Escobar; his sister, Mary Lou Paliani.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to Esparza Private Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion John Hanson Post 43.
