Harlingen, Texas- Juana Banda Ruiz, 68, our beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mexico and lived in Chicago before settling in Harlingen to be with her mother. Juana was a loyal employee of Wal-Mart for 28 years. Family would like to thank Wal-Mart Management Associates in Harlingen, Texas for their assistance and understanding throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her father, Anastacio Banda; siblings, Lourdes Gaitan, Frankie Banda, Frances Banda. She is survived by her children, Gregorio Banda, Ricardo (Beth) Banda, and Veronica (Arnie) Guzman; grandchildren, Audrey Grace Guzman and Kaylee Renae Banda; siblings, Elva (Allan) Rasmussen, Serafin (Joanna) Banda, Arthur (Dawn) Banda, Gloria (Ruben) Perales, Mario Banda, Liza (James) Banda, Henry (Elsa) Banda, Esther Banda, Robert (Elvia) Banda, Julie Banda, and Rafael Banda. Cremation was followed in accordance to her wishes. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen, Texas, followed by a small private ceremony in South Padre Island, Texas.
