El Ranchito, TX- Maria De La Luz Juarez, 88, passed away on October 10, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. She was born on October 20, 1919 in Mexico to Pablo and Antonia Saldana. She was a longtime resident of El Ranchito and attended the Adult Paradise Center in Harlingen for several years. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters; her son, Israel Jose Juarez, Sr. and her grandson, Juan Ramon "Pandi" Hernandez, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Julian Juarez; her children, Guadalupe (Carlos) Garcia of Florida, San Juana (Baldomero) Garcia, Jesus (Maria) Juarez and Sylvia (Ramon) Hernandez; all of El Ranchito, TX; She was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Olegario Rodriguez, Jr., Jeremy Larralde, Julian Villegas III and Julian Villegas IV. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Facundo Juarez, Israel Jose Juarez, Jr., Jesus Juarez and Adrian Juarez. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Ignatius de Loyola Catholic Church in El Ranchito. Interment will follow to Garcia Cemetery.
