Edelmira Rodriguez, 98, of Port Isabel, TX went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at her residence in Austin, TX. Edelmira was born in Condembaro Michoacan, Mexico on July 15, 1916. She immigrated to Texas in late 40's and was a resident of Port Isabel for 57 years and spent the last 11 years in Austin. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio and Esther Ramos Padilla; her husband, Rafael Rodriguez; son, Jose Luis Rodriguez; granddaughter, Terri Romo; and son in law, Santos Moncivaiz Sr. She is survived by 5 children: Graciela Moncivaiz from Los Fresnos, Texas, Ramon Rodriguez from Kyle, Texas, Esther (Primitivo) Galvan from Port Isabel, Texas, Carmen Rodriguez from Austin, Texas and Javier (Rosalba) Rodriguez from Grapevine, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and will continue from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St., Port Isabel, TX. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery.
