Jose Felipe Brown, Sr., of Port Isabel, Texas, entered into rest on August 23, 2014.
Felipe was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a big fan of the Port Isabel Tarpons. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus in Alabama. He served his community as a volunteer Port Isabel Firefighter and during Christmas, he would dress up as Santa Claus. He will be missed dearly by all those that knew him.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Lee Brown; parents, John Mack and Carmela Camacho Le Blanc; sister, Dorothy Brown Mireles; and brother, Juan Ramirez, Jr.
Surviving him is his wife, Deborah Fierro Brown; two sons: Jose Felipe Brown, Jr. and Mark (Alicia Trejo) Brown; one granddaughter, Jennifer Rose Marie Brown; three sisters: Guadalupe T. Rodriguez, Mary L. Hurtado, and Ida Le Blanc Burton; brother, Walter Ray "Shorty" Le Blanc, Sr.; goddaughter, Becky Hurtado; three godsons: Rev. Dr. Raul Cruz Rodriguez, Rogelio Baeillo and Luis Garza; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel, Texas. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers: Alejandro Resendez, Walter Ray Le Blanc, Cayetano Magana, Adan Perez, Mark Garza, and Armando Zamora.
