Jose Amado Trevino entered into his Lord's Kingdom on June 22, 2014. He was born March 17, 1932 to Amado Trevino and Elvira Solis Trevino. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict beginning May 1951 in the Airborne Division and was honorably discharged in April 1955. Our father loved his family very much and he will remain in our hearts and thoughts until we meet again. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two beloved brothers, Antero P. Trevino and Gustavo R. Trevino. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hilda Acosta Trevino; his beloved children: Elvira Trevino, Ruben (Helen) Trevino, Lonnie (Norma) Trevino, and Mary Ann Silva; his grandchildren: (Elvira's children) Smiley Amado (Cara) Garcia and Katherine (Adam) Cartwright; (Ruben's children) Jacob (Katie Fraser) Trevino and Sara (Brandon) Gomez; (Lonnie's children) Meaghan Danelle Trevino and Travis Lonnie Trevino; and (Mary Ann's children) Ectoria Serna and Joana Silva. Also surviving him are four great-granddaughters: Andria and Adrina Juarez, Isabella Hilda Gomez and Nadia Lizzette Cartwright, in addition to his two siblings, Irene Hudson and Joaquin Trevino. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Military honors are to be conducted by American Legion John Hanson Post 43 at 9:00 am, prior to the funeral mass, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in accordance to his wishes.
