Jose Guadalupe Diaz, 83, of San Benito, Texas, entered into eternal peace surrounded by his loving family on June 4, 2014. Mr. Diaz worked for the maintenance department with San Benito School District for over 30 years before retiring. He will be dearly missed. Lupe was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Esperanza Castillo Diaz; and two sisters, Maria De Jesus Diaz and Concepcion Diaz. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Viola Diaz; his children: Sylvia (Juan) Villela, Belia (Noe) Jimenez, Maria (Mario) Garza, Jose G. Diaz, Jose (Leti) Diaz, Gustavo (Birdie) Diaz, Dolores (Alfredo) Villela; 28 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Consuelo D. (+Leovigildo) Puente, Celia D. Garcia; and two brothers: Pasual (Ernestina) Diaz and Porfirio (Carlota) Diaz. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 pm, Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Ignacio Catholic Church in El Ranchito, Texas. Interment will follow at Esparza Cemetery.
