Roy Rodriguez, 53, of Port Isabel, Texas, entered into rest on May 30, 2014. Roy was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church of Port Isabel. He was a past employee of Louie's Backyard for 10 years and was currently employed with Shamrock Builders in Port Isabel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elpidio and Piedad Ruiz- Rodriguez; and one sister, Alicia Castellanos. Roy is survived by the mother of his children, Cassie Cromell; two sons, Isaac Cerp and Simon Rodriguez; siblings: Rudy Rodriguez of Athens, Texas, Aida Benavides of Harlingen, Texas, and Lori (Mike) Lewis of South Padre Island, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:30 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in La Feria, Texas. Serving as pallbearers: Henry Banda, Joe Gonzales, Rod Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez, and Gilbert Ramirez.
