San Benito, TX - Antonia R. Cortez, 73, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 4, 2008 At Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. She was a native of Harlingen Texas and a resident of San Benito. Texas. Mrs. Cortez is preceded in death by her parents; Apolinar and Guadalupe Rodriguez; her husband, Alfredo C. Cortez, Sr., and a sister, Romana Rodriguez. Mrs. Cortez is survived by her children, Diana Galvan, Rosalinda Martinez, Odilia Cortez, Thelma Mata, Norma A. Teal, Rachel Cortez, Alfredo Cortez Jr., Ruben Cortez, Jonas Cortez, Edward Cortez and Eric Cortez; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. A Chapel Service will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Las Rucias Cemetery located on Hwy. 281 and Rangerville Rd.
