Pharr, TX - Ronald Elwood Smith at 62 passed away January 31, 2014
Ron, a Christian man, who was baptized and strong in the faith, devoted his life and career to God. His journey took him many places where the joy of the Lord was his strength. He blossomed with heart felt giving to World Vision supporting eight children in several third world countries. His love for mission in tower work was enhanced while working with World Radio Network. They shared the vision of outreach spreading the gospel to the world. Together there was much bonding and caring for one another.
Ron also wrote two Christian books: Steps, his testimony and The Trail of Elisha, a book pointing to end times through scripture. Ron knew where he was going and he stayed on the path. He enjoyed worshipping at Rock of Ages - Assembly of God Church.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Athel (Pete) Elwood and Doris Pauline Bebensee Smith and his brother Lawrence (Larry) Edward Smith. He is survived by his sister Diana Lee Smith Kardokus Hunt and Nephews Ronald (Ron) Kardokus, Jeffery (Jeff) Kardokus and Jason Kardokus along with their children and wives: Alex and Connor (Ron & Elizabeth); Kayla and Madison (Jeff & Sandi); Baeya, Gusten and Oliver (Jason & Carmen).
