San Benito, Texas: Domingo E. Castillo, 90 of San Benito, Texas passed away on June 29, 2008 surrounded by his loving family in Denton, Texas. Mr. Castillo was a lifetime resident of San Benito and was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. He was a Heavy Machine Gunner during World War II and received several medals and was Honorably Discharge from United States Army in December 22, 1945. He is preceded in death by 3 daughters, Julia Gonzalez, Gabina Quintero and Magadalena Saldana; 1 son, Armando Castillo; Parents, Francisco and Petra Castillo; He survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Aurora R. Castillo of San Benito; Daughter, Otilia (Joe Jr.) Silva of Denton; 2 Sons, Domingo (Maria Elena) Castillo Jr. of Houston and Ismael (Maria Alicia) Castillo of Denton, Texas; 15 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren; Visitation will be held today Wednesday July 02, 2008 from 12 noon - 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday July 03, 2008 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to Rio Grande State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 S. Inspiration Road, in Mission, Texas with Military Honors conducted by the V.F.W. Post 8788 of McAllen, Texas. Words of comfort can be sent to the Castillo family at www.thomaegarza.com
