He was a good man, father, husband and freind. We were both sergents at the same time for Cameron County he was someone everyone could depend on always on and off the clock. Everyone will miss him. I always ran into him at Wal Mart. There he was standing in the middle shaking someone's hand. I will miss this man alot. Matthew 5.9. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God. Our brother has gone home to our father where I truly beleive he was welcomed and embraced . We will miss you buddy.

Our sincere condolences to the Cavazos. Sgt. Cavazos was my first sergeant. He was a good man who was well respected. He was a "Get to work, get the job done" type of man. The best memory I have of him is... On the first day on the job as a young female (very green) deputy, he radioed to meet him at Hwy 100. That was the half way point between the north and south ends of the county. It was my first day, and surely I couldnt have done anything wrong. We met and he told me he needed to speak with me. He knew I was scared and I thought I did do something wrong. He said he wanted to speak me about his expectations of his deputies. Still unsure, I would just knod, and say "Yes sir". He told me what he expected of me and he didnt want me to let him or "La Palomia" down. I asured him I wouldnt and I'm happy to say I never did. Still a little nervous about the meeting, he said "Now get to work" but pause and smiled and said "Be safe and let me know if you need anything". I was relieved and knew everything was okay. I will always remember him as my first and best sergeant I have ever had. He will be truely missed. Marian (Baker 43)
