Susana C. Garcia, 53, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on January 19, 2014 at her residence. Susana moved to Port Isabel in 1977 and has since been a resident. She was a past member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and attended Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. She was employed as a provider with Med-Team Nursing Care and A Healing Touch Nursing Care. She was preceded in death by her parents: Audencio Contreras and Paula Martinez Contreras. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Francisco Javier Garcia of Port Isabel; two daughters: Princess Amanda Martinez and Thalia (Victor Medina) Garcia; two sons: Lauro Martinez, Jr. and Jesus Javier Garcia; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Maria (Felipe) Socorro Ramirez; and two brothers: Ismael Contreras Martinez and Martin (Isabel) Contreras Martinez. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow service in accordance to her wishes.
