Camila Denise Esquivel, 32, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel, Texas as was a graduated from Port Isabel High School Class of 2003. She was also a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Modesto and Ignacia Martinez Barrera; and cousins, Jose Luis Barrera and Micaela Barrera Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Yolanda Barrera of Port Isabel, Texas; a brother, Santos (Cindy) Esquivel, Jr. of Los Fresnos, Texas; sisters, Frances Esquivel and Melissa (Andres) Esquivel Zavaleta, both of Brownsville, Texas; 14 nephews and nieces, Andres Garza III, Jose M. Medina, Jr., Britney D. Esquivel, Felix S. Garcia, Abraham J. Flores, Biancha J. Esquivel, Serenity D. Esquivel, Anton J. Esquivel, Ashlyn B. Esquivel, Kiandra P. Esquivel, Pedro Nunez, III, Eunice D. Zavaleta, Elissa Zavaleta, and Andrea D. Zavaleta; one great niece, Mikayla-Marie J. Garza; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home Chapel and will continue form 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St., Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Cremation will follow services in accordance with her wishes. Pallbearers are: Santos Esquivel, Jr., Andres Zavaleta, Andres Garza III, Anton J. Esquivel, Manuel Medina, Pedro Nunez III, and Isaac Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Felix S. Garcia and Abraham J. Flores.
