Israel Tolento, 77, of Rio Hondo, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his son, Jaime Tolento. He is survived by his wife, Concepcion "Connie" Tolento; his son, Jose Israel (Santa) Tolento; daughter, Sylvia (Ricardo) Alfaro; four grandchildren: Leonel Sylvester Tolento, Salina Tolento, Alexandra Alfaro, and Alan-Michael Alfaro; and two great-grandchildren: Leonel Tolento II and Emily Angelina Tolento. Also surviving him is his brother, Amadeo Tolento; and two sisters, Alicia Mendoza and Ninfa Anzaldua. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, Texas. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
