San Benito, TX - Javier Alvarez, 53, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Sunshine Heaven Special Care Facility in Olmito. He was a native Harlingen, Texas and a resident of San Benito, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father Ramon Alvarez, a sister Juana Alvarez and sister-in-law Maria Alvarez. Mr. Alvarez is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Elvia Alvarez, his children Angelica (Lucas) Garza, Javier (Jessica) Alvarez Jr. and Michael Alvarez; his granddaughters Amber and Dominga Garza; mother Maximina Alvarez; a sister Josefina Meza; brothers, Genaro (Maria) Alvarez, Norberto (Jovita) Alvarez, Ramon (Josefina) Alvarez, Humberto Alvarez and Jose Luis (Micaela) Alvarez and other relatives. Visitation will be held today, June 15, 2008 from 12 Noon to 9 PM with a rosary to be recited at 7 PM at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 AM on Monday, June 16, 2008 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Committal service will follow to San Benito City Cemetery in San Benito, Texas.
