Guadalupe "Lupito" Hernandez, Jr., 32, of San Benito, Texas, entered into eternal rest on December 17, 2013. He was a graduate of San Benito High School, Class of 2001 and a star athlete of his class. He enjoyed the company of his pets, Sunny, Rico, puppies, and two parakeets. Our beloved Lupito, a man of strong faith, an amazing and kind person who meant so much to so many people, will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Petra Hernandez Leonides Castillo, Patrocino Alvarado, Fermin Hernandez and Santos De La Rosa. Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Guadalupe (Liz) Hernandez, Sr. and Ida (Robert) De La Rosa Spence; siblings: Antoinette Flores, Valerie (Thomas, Jr) Avila, India (Jacques) Edel, Mia Cortez, and Raithel Spence; niece, Aracely Avila, nephews: Matthew Avila and Ethan Edel; fiancé, Yanira Cantu. Also surviving him is his paternal grandmother, Amanda Saldivar De La Rosa; grandmother, Petra "GG" Perez; his best friends, Sam and Mary Conde; his buddy, Edgar Mendoza; and fishing buddy, Ralph Villanueva; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm on both nights, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Mass of resurrection will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 23, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito. Committal service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
