Antonio Cesar Solis, 80, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at his home in San Benito, TX. Antonio was born in Brownsville, Texas and resided in Brownsville most of his life. Thirteen years ago he moved to San Benito, after 65 years of being under the personal care of his loving mother, Fanny Martinez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Heriberto Solis, Sr. and Fanny Solis Martinez; a sister, Alicia San Miguel; a brother, George M. Solis; sister-in-law, Juanita Solis; grandparents, Cipriano Martinez and Dolores Cuellar; and several other relatives. Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Elva Solis De los Santos of San Benito, TX.; two brothers, Deacon Heriberto Solis, Jr. and Carlos (Carol) Solis both of Brownsville, TX.; a half sister, Teresa Solis Velasco of El Paso, TX.; a nephew, Fernando (Elva) San Miguel of Brownsville, TX.; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a holy rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito. Funeral service will begin promptly at 7:00 pm following the rosary. Cremation will follow services in accordance with his wishes.
