Ramon Reyes Alvarado, 74, of Brownsville, Texas beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Wednesday. June 4, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico; Ramon has called Brownsville his home for over 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mariana Alvarado Reyes and Bacilio Reyes; 3 brothers, Pedro Reyes, Santana Reyes, and Guadalupe Reyes; 3 sisters, Maria Reyes Egia, Juana Reyes Garcia, and Refugia Reyes de Garza; 2 grandchildren, Jose Adan Solis, Jr. and Amanda Rodriguez.
Left behind to eternally treasure his memory is his wife of 54 years, Teresa Flores Reyes; his children, Blanca (Adan) Solis, Olga Garza, Juan Antonio (Alma) Reyes, Rosario (Rodrigo) Rodriguez, Nely Martinez, Martin (Alicia) Reyes, Maria de Jesus (Jose Even) Rodriguez, Ramon (Paula) Reyes, Jr. and Adolfo (Melissa) Reyes; 30 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bacilio Reyes and Mario Reyes; and 4 sisters, Josefa Reyes de Alaniz, Estela Reyes Sinfuentes, Gela Reyes Garza and Olivia Reyes Avalos.
Visitations will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at San Joaquin Funeral Home in Matamoros, Mexico. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at San Joaquin Funeral Home with Interment follow to Ejido El Longoreno in Matamoros Mexico.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Gonzalez, Marty Reyes, Jr., Rudy Rodriguez, Jr., Guadalupe Flores, Adrian Jesus Reyes, Narcisco Garza, Antonio Flores, Jr., Juan Antonio Reyes, Jr., and Jose Even Rodriguez, Jr.
