Almira Zurita Ramirez, 76, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 6, 2013 at West Houston Medical Center.. Almira will always be remembered for the loving grandmother and mother she was. The joy of her life was her great grandson, Isaiah. She was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed sewing, collecting antiques and was the best cook in the world. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Maryann; her parents, Jesus and Maria Zurita; and brothers, Juan V. Zurita and Adan Zurita. Almira is survived by her children, Rachel, Henry, and Tunis; 8 grandchildren, Alejandro, Jose, Abriana, Bobby, Anabelle, Corey, Elizabeth, and Jerry; 1 great grandson, Isaiah; siblings, Maria Alvarez, Theresa Smith, Jesus Zurita, and Inocente Zurita; and step mother, Elvita Zurita. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 5:00pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow services as per her wishes.
