Jose Antonio Lozano, 58 of Rio Hondo, Texas passed away on April 19, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He preceded in death by his father, Antonio Lozano. Jose was a lifelong member of St. Helen's Catholic Church of Rio Hondo. He was employed with Texas Linen of Harlingen for 23 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved photography. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus.
Survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Beatris Lozano of Rio Hondo, Texas; His 3 loving children, Jose Antonio Lozano Jr. of Rio Hondo, Celia (Ariel) Merrell of Harlingen and Gerardo Lozano of Rio Hondo, Texas; His mother, Celia (Joe) Montez-Ramirez of Harlingen; Sister, Sarita (Joe) De Leon of Harlingen; 3 Brothers, Frank (Rosa) Lozano of Harlingen, Johnny (Yolanda) Lozano of Harlingen, and Ernesto (Denise) Lozano of Victoria, Texas; Several nephews, nieces and other relatives. Visitation will be held today Monday April 21, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a presentation to be held at 6:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 22, 2008 at St. Helens Catholic Church in Rio Hondo. Cremation will follow to Sacred Park Crematorium. Pallbearers will be John Allen Lozano, John Robert Lozano, Frank Lozano Jr., Angel Romero Jr., Pedro Hilario Martinez, and Hilario Luke Lopez; In lieu of flower memorial can be made in memory of Jose A. Lozano to the American Cancer Society, 5413 S. McColl Road, McAllen, Texas 78539.
