Laguna Vista, TX - Diane Lucina Binford, 53, vibrant, bold, and avid enjoyer of life, was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 30, 1959, and passed away at her home on June 6, 2013. Diane gave her love without abandon, and she did the very best she knew how for the people she loved. She enjoyed being out in the sun, in the fresh air, and never had more fun than when she spent a day on the beach with friends and family. Diane loved to laugh; always the center of attention, she could strike up a conversation with anyone and have them rolling on the floor in minutes. She had a contagious passion for life, and she used that energy in her career as a waitress in places all across the country, but most recently on South Padre Island. Diane cared deeply about art, Frida Khalo being among her favorites. In her youth, she had a flair for photography, even running her own darkroom, and later she studied art at the University of Texas at Brownsville for several years - joking that she was the longest attending student. Diane and her family lived in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, dubbed "an artist's town," for several years. She always intended to return, remembering the beauty of the city and the friendly people. Diane truly touched the lives of her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed. Diane is preceded in death by her father, Michael Yore; her husband, James Binford; her aunt, Loretta Wintermute; and her niece, Carissa Pultz. She is survived by her children, Meghan, Bryan, and Hailey Binford; her mother, Adele Yore; her mother in-law, Jane Binford; and her siblings, Sheila Yore, Michael Yore, Dan Yore, and Pat Hunter. A service for Diane will be held on Tuesday, June 11, at 6:00 pm at Christ's Harbor Church, 1441 Santa Isabel Blvd. in Laguna Vista, Texas.
