Frank Betancourt, 73, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Juanita Caraveo Betancourt; brothers, Victor Betancourt, Jr. and Marcos Betancourt. Frank is survived by his wife, Gloria Garcia Betancourt; his children, Sonia Martinez, Cynthia Ellison, Francisco Betancourt Jr., David Betancourt, Mary Ann Douglas, and Ethan Joshua Betancourt; brothers, Luis Betancourt, Fernando Betancourt, and Joe Betancourt; sisters, Juanita Ramos, Rosario Falcon, Antonia Campos, Maria Ortiz, and Melky Rodgers; and many other relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Las Yescas Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by John Hansen Post 43 of Brownsville, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Frank Betancourt, Jr., David Betancourt, Ethan Betancourt, Adrian Betancourt, Edward Betancourt, and Jaime Martinez.
