Laguna Heights, TX- Tiburcio "Butch" Lopez Chavez, 67, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 in Brownsville, Texas . He was a cook on the South Padre Island for many years and was well known in the community. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed and loved forever. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Chavez, Sr. and Maria de la Luz Lopez; 2 brothers: Tobias Chavez and Cipriano Chavez; his parents-in-law, Lorenzo and Aurora D. Rosales, Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Juanita Aurora Chavez; his three children, Manolo R. Esparza, Ericka (Mike) Silva, and Juan L. Chavez; two grandchildren, Mike Silva Jr. and Sebastian Silva; four sisters: Santa, Victoria, Sara, and Ana Cleta; five brothers: Margarito, Miguel, Alfredo, Francisco, and Isidoro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitations will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at The Lighthouse Assembly of God Church located on 110 Port Road in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral services to begin at 1:00 P.M. Interment to follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
