San Benito, TX: Santos L. Avila, 84 went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Retama Manor Nursing Center in Harlingen, Texas. She was a native of Buckeye, Texas and long time resident of San Benito, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tito L. Avila Sr., her parents, Francisco and Andrea Leal; 3 sisters, Francisca Garcia, Cayatana Garza, and Maria Gomez; 1 brother, Jose Leal. Mrs. Avila is survived by her children, Tito Avila Jr. of Plano, Texas, Gilberto (Manuela) Avila of Rio Hondo, Texas, Hector (Elizabeth (Betsy)) Avila of San Benito, Texas and daughter, Alicia (Pedro A.) Salazar of San Benito, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Dennis Avila, Susie (Doug) Moody, Adrian (Kimberly ) Avila of Plano, Texas, Michael A. Sullivan of New Jersey, Gabriel (Emily) Avila, Jorge (Miriam) Avila Harlingen, Texas, Cassandra L. Avila, Peter (Susan) Salazar Jr., Sandra (Armando) De Leon and Norma Linda (Sergio Garcia) Salazar all of San Benito, Texas. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, March 05, 2008 at 12 pm to 5pm at Thomae -Garza Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 6pm to 9pm at Iglesia Evangelica Cristo Es La Roca, 101 N. Williams Rd. San Benito, TX 78586.Thursday, March 06, 2008 Visitation will continue at 12 pm at Iglesia Evangelica Cristo es La Roca. The Funeral Service will be held at Church at 2 pm. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
