Julio Mendoza, 78, of Laguna Heights, Texas, passed away on February 13, 2013 at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abdias and Catalina Monroy Mendoza; his sister, Martha Mendoza; and his brother, Brother Mendoza. Julio is survived by his wife, Manuela Mendoza; and his ten children: Abdias Mendoza, Julio Mendoza Jr., Eladio Mendoza, Victor Mendoza, Catalina Mendoza, Benito Mendoza, Martha Mendoza, Jose Mendoza, Guadalupe Mendoza, and Jose Benito Mendoza. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 2:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
