Rosa Sordia Parra, 77 of Harlingen, TX, passed away on January 6, 2013 at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center in Cypress, TX. Rosa loved to play Bingo and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her spouse Cesar M. Parra, Sr; son Jose Roberto Parra; parents Jorge Sordia and Juana Melchor Ochoa; stepfather Ovidio Ochoa; and brother Olallo (Lyle). She is survived by her loving sons: Alvaro, Cesar Jr. (Josie), Ray (Irene) and Israel (Yolanda). Rosa has seven grandchildren: Rose Marie Ibarra, Diana Villarreal, Roxanne Sanchez, Veronica Parra, Justin Parra, Alison Parra and Megan Parra; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters: Beda, Olinda, and Olivia; and two brothers, Max and Ovidio Ray Jr. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Alvaro, Cesar, Ray, Israel, Justin, and Domingo.
