Roy was a good friend, loyal teammate and a great human being. I was saddened to get the news but had an unexplained peace come over me upon hearing. I believe this is why: Roy has always been a man of faith. I know Roy was a believer so we can have peace in the fact that we will see him one day in eternity when our time comes. I have not spoken with Roy much since high school in 2001 since our lives went in different directions; as does following the high school years and relocation after the fact. One of the best memories I have with Roy, besides the football days were the times I would go over to his house and ride horses with him. Clyde I believe was one of the horses that he let me ride. Sometimes it would get spooked and run off and it would scare me. I can still see Roy laughing at me while he sat on top of his horse in total control. Of course he knew what he was doing. He was a true cowboy. I was a rookie. I'll never forget that. God bless you and know that many thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Regards, Travis Damron
